An essential part of our practice is community service. We feel that it is important to give back, so we donate a portion of our time and effort to non-profit organizations. We care about the health of our patients, our practitioners, and the environment. We constructed the Center with the most environmentally friendly materials possible. This means recycled carpet, non-toxic paints, cork flooring, formaldehyde-free insulation, and rubber molding. The majority of our furniture is vintage, and we only use natural cleaners and recycled paper goods. Our pharmacy does not contain ingredients from any endangered species, and all herbs come from manufacturers that test for heavy metals and adulteration with pharmaceuticals.

We work hard to support local businesses. Our vintage furniture is from Flashback, our sign was made by Larry Coleman’s sign shop, our printing is done by Blue Barnhouse, the space was built out by Whitney Construction, and our non-toxic paints were made by Earthpaint, a 100% wind powered manufacturer. All of these businesses are right here in Asheville. Even the herbs in our pharmacy are sourced locally, from Golden Needle in Candler.

Asheville has a long history as a destination for healing. As one of the most biologically diverse ecosystems in the world, the southern Appalachian Mountains are home to many important plants, such as Black Cohosh, Ginseng and Goldenseal, and were considered to be a prime source of medicine for the Native Americans. Physicians first came here in the 1880’s to open tuberculosis sanitariums and other health retreats. Today Asheville continues this lineage as a center for healing with the largest hospital in western North Carolina, world-class spas, and multiple schools in holistic medicine. We love Asheville and know what a truly healing place it is.
